Produced by Chloë Sevigny and directed by New York filmmaker and lifelong Deadhead Mischa Richter, this open-hearted 16mm documentary follows a new generation of Deadheads on a freewheeling journey across America. Focusing his camera on the crowd rather than the stage, Richter finds friends between parking lots and caravans, capturing off-the-cuff reflections and moments lost in the music in a state of pure bliss. A loving tribute to an often misunderstood group of fans.
Presented on August 1st — Jerry Garcia’s birthday — and introduced by Rockaway resident Matt Lilly, who is a subject in the film.
Preceded by a performance by Rockaway-based band Rainbow Spirals.
Doors at 6:30 pm. Music at 7:00 pm. Screening at 8:30 pm.
