by Keith Gordon. 1988. US. 100 min.
Guest presented by Azazel Jacobs.
A high school freshman rebels against his elite Catholic prep school when he refuses to sell chocolates for the school fundraiser and must face the consequences. Adapted from Robert Cormier’s banned 1974 novel, this moody, anti-authoritarian coming-of-age story has a killer soundtrack featuring Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, and Yazoo. A cautionary tale about the abuses committed by those in power.
The Chocolate War is guest presented by Azazel Jacobs as part of FLICKER POINTS, a series for young movie lovers. This screening is free for people ages 15-19.
