A young Taiwanese tourist arrives in a coastal city in Brazil, not speaking the language. After befriending an umbrella salesman who quickly packs up shop and disappears due to the lack of rain, she finds herself tumbling into his own immigrant narrative through the collection of postcards he leaves behind. A fresh and clever comedy of misunderstandings, this film explores how people become connected or separated on the basis of language. U.S. premiere.
Post-screening Q&A with Nele Wohlatz and Nicolás Pereda. After-party DJ set by IBM Doily and Rare Earf. Food available by Brothers.
